Clickable Phone Numbers

LiveConnect treats strings of numbers that are 7 to 15 digits long or begins with “+” as phone numbers. Phone numbers are clickable in both the LiveConnect app and widget.

Store associates can tap phone numbers sent to them in the LiveConnect app to create and update customer profiles. Customers can click or tap phone numbers sent to them in the web widget to begin a phone call.

Store associates can create and update customer profiles in the LiveConnect app by tapping phone numbers sent to them by customers.

Add phone numbers to linked customer profiles

When a customer with a linked customer profile shares a phone number, store associates can add the phone number to the profile.

To add a phone number to a customer profile:

  1. Select the phone number shared by the customer.
  2. Select Add to Profile to open the Add Phone Number page.
  3. Select a phone type, and then select Save.
  4. Tap Save.

If the phone number is already saved to the customer’s profile, LiveConnect will notify you of this after you tap Add to Profile.

Create new customer profiles from phone numbers

Store associates can create new customer profiles for customers who do not already have one. When a customer shares their phone number, store associates can tap the number and create a new profile.

To create a new customer profile from a phone number:

  1. Select the phone number shared by the customer.
  2. Select Create New Profile.
  3. Enter the customer’s name, email address, and phone number.
  4. Tap Save.

After saving the new customer profile, LiveConnect will check for duplicate profiles. If there are no duplicates, then the new profile will be created. If there are duplicate profiles found, LiveConnect will prompt you to review the Duplicates Found page.

To merge the new customer profile with the existing customer profile, tap Merge Profiles on the customer profile you want to merge.

To save the new customer profile separately, tap Save as New Profile on the Duplicates Found page.

Copy phone numbers

Phone numbers can also be copied to your device’s clipboard. To copy a phone number, tap the phone number in the chat and select Copy.

Clickable phone numbers in the widget

Customers can select phone numbers shared with them in the web widget to launch a call on their device. After selecting the phone number, a prompt opens on the customer’s device with the option to launch a call.

Phone numbers are only highlighted in messages containing numbers only and on devices less than 900 x 900px.
