Authentication

Tulip provides three types of authentication for clients to facilitate a seamless experience while ensuring that the highest security standards are provided.

1. Tulip Internal Authentication

Retailers who do not employ Enterprise SSO, can use Tulip’s internal authentication to create usernames and passwords for their employees.

2. SAML 2.0

Tulip provides SAML 2.0 support for client IT systems to act as a centralized login service for Tulip Apps – as opposed to creating separate accounts within Tulip to login. With this method, the retailer’s existing identity provider system is used to facilitate a secure integration while increasing Tulip’s efficiency to launch for new clients.

3. OpenID Connect 1.0

Tulip provides an internal authentication mechanism using the OpenID Connect 1.0 protocol to provide a consistent way for applications to connect with Tulip Cloud. Existing OpenID Connect client libraries can be used which lowers the cost of integrating third-party services.
